The Doctor: "DONATE!" http://donate./donate.html THIS EPISODE AND THIS ENTIRE STORYLINE WITH THE BRIG is dedicated to the late, great Nicholas kie/__cb20140727175333/tardis/images/6/6a/Nicholas_Courtney_DW.jpg NOTE: A great deal of the stuff in this episode really happened and a lot of the characters are based on real people and many of the real life events mentioned or happening, really happened. http://www.starpulse/Actors/Sumpter,...ry/SGG-035583/ http://www.shirtless.tk/2011/08/jesse-mccartney.html DOCTOR WHO, JEREMY, AND JESSE part 144 http://www.youtube/watch?v=RKbT8KYiEwI http://www.youtube/watch?v=AlxW2sd4SFw "Doctor's Data time log, 45,000 Year Diary. Thursday, July 3rd, 2008. Robert Moses Beach. Early morning about 6: 55 AM. While the Brigadier and I were investigating more deaths by the mysterious motorcycle creature, my two companions were having a rest at Robert Moses Beach...unaware that they were being watched by other men in black and from another spot two...mutant animals...but which of these two groups was more dangerous?" Seagull sounds of morning. Rising sun on the gentle summer breeze. Warm air. Calm. The ocean was barely moving. Jeremy was on his side now and Jesse had dropped off him onto the sand, his belly to the warm sand. Jeremy's gaze as he opened his crust covered eyes was to the east. Jesse looked up. What he saw made him spring up. An apple with white dove wings flew up in front of Jesse, who looked at it amazed...with wide eyed wonder. He almost smiled. He swallowed. "Jer...Jer...?" The apple seemed to him to regard him with some emotion but Jesse was not sure what that emotion was. "Well," he thought, "It's not trying to kill me yet so that's a good sign. Jer, would you wake up please?" The wings fluttered as it lowered itself to the ground to settle. "Jeremy?" The apple took off again, flapping its wings some more. "Jeremy?" Binoculars were watching the scene from the north dunes. Behind the binocular was a man. Next to him were two more men, all of them wearing black suits, black button shirts, black shades, and black ties. Even large, scientific looking, black watches on their right wrists. A man's voice said, "Those things are being drawn to them for some reason." "We have to capture them. We have to get them both now!" STING at TITLE: http://www.youtube/watch?v=we7BNW8UqZw THE HARD RIDER (another sting) OF DEATH Part 1 Wide shot of the beach. Jesse and Jeremy on the beach. Zoom in on the men in black who are perched on the dune... "Number one, this is your Colonel Masters. Negative on that. You are not to "get them both now" at any cost. Do you copy?" "Yes, Masters." Number One called back. "We understand." Number Two asked, "We do?" "Shhh." "Keep a trace on them and don't let them out of your sight. Try to follow the mutants as well." "That will be difficult." "Yes, I know it will be difficult. That's why I have you out there and I'm not out there myself, Number two." "I'm number one." "Yes, I wasn't referring to your designation. I was referring to your quality." "Huh? Oh, wait. I get it now." "Sigh." "Jesse, could you come over here and look at this?" Jeremy said at the exact same time that Jesse said, "Jeremy, can you come over here and look at this?" For Jeremy was on his side staring at a small finch that had one leg. He didn't want to startle it. It was very close to the tent and yet on the sand. It hopped. Then, it sat down, bending its one leg. The thing Jeremy noticed immediately was that the leg was in the center of the bird's body as if it belonged there from birth. He quietly removed himself from the position he was in, most of his body out of the tent with a bit of his lower legs still in it. He used his hands and arms to lift himself up and slowly drew his legs into a crouching position. He lowered himself to look at the bird. It hopped back and to do so it had to lift itself. This revealed its one leg again. Jeremy looked under it. The leg was not a deformity from what he could tell. There was no spot where the other leg had been broken off. In fact, the bird looked entirely at peace with itself and serene. It sat down again. Jeremy crawled closer to it. It lifted itself again and hopped on its centered leg. He noticed the foot had three segmented toe claws branching off from the lone foot. On the other side, Jesse was in almost the same position. Staring at an apple with dove wings that was flying in front of his face. He smiled as it opened its mouth. He saw teeth and thought the thing almost smiled back at him. His eyes were wide and his whole face had a "what the fuck?" but "this is amazing" look of wonderment. Jeremy adapted the same look. His bird inched closer to him as if it wanted to be pet. Then, it turned toward the dunes. Both boys sat up on their knees, knees touching the sand more directly now. Jesse noticed his apple dove turned toward the dunes, also. Jeremy grabbed Jesse's arm while Jesse grabbed Jeremy's arm and they swung each other into the other's former position. The things turned back to the boys again. There was a new face for each to admire. "What da fuck?" Jesse stared at the one legged, content bird while Jeremy's eyes grew wide at the apple dove. He could feel the wind created by the flapping wings as it started to lower itself to his face and then move up a bit higher. Once more, the two things turned to the dunes and back again. As if they said goodbye, the two birds flapped and took off into the sky. Jesse breathed hard. "That was amazing!" "You saw that, right?" They both said to each other. They both nodded. Standing upright, Jeremy puffed. "The Doctor and that Brig fellow are right. Something strange sure is going on on Long Island." "We'd better go tell the Doctor," Jesse told him as he put his hand out and Jeremy put his hand in it to pull him up. "Yeah," Jeremy said with more than a hint of disappointment in having to leave. Jesse laughed. "We've been here all night." "I know. It's just now that we're back on Earth for a time...I just hoped for some peace and quiet." Jesse picked up two towels and swung them out to get rid of the sand. "Peace and quiet? Dude...we're with the Doctor...how much peace and quiet do you think we're gonna get?" "Well, I guess we just had it, huh?" "Maybe. When we get back to him, we're probably gonna have to go into the woods and track down Bigfoot or the Yeti or something." Jeremy started to undo the tent pole. "You're probably right. Probably have us tracking UFOs to Area 51 or Roswell..." Jesse laughed. "Luckily, he already knows the Loch Ness monster so we don't have to go there..." Jeremy laughed. "Right now, he's probably hatching up the most unpleasant plan that will take us to the most unloved place, most unpleasant place on Long Island..." A few hours later at the Doctor's house in the living room... "A gay bar?" The Brig asked the Doctor at his home. The boys entered in their speedos, the Brig covered his brow and turned away, "My word..." Jesse told him, "It's just the human body, Briggie, baby." "Yes but not every human body is so..." The Doctor motioned his head for them to go down the hall to change and the two boys started down that hall on the south side of the house. "What?" Jesse stopped and turned toward the Brig. "So fit." "Why, thank you, sir." After they changed...Jeremy had on a dark blue tank top and black dungarees with blue sneakers. http://www.fanpop/clubs/jeremy-sumpt...e/jeremy-photo Jesse wore a light tan/almost white sleeveless vest that hung down past his hips. It was open and revealed the crack between his pecs, if not his pecs themselves, and his tight, flat stomach. He had on two watches, a ring on his fourth finger on his right hand, and short cut blue gym shorts that just about reached his knees. The vest had orange lines on the sleeves, one on each side. The pull strings were orange, too as were the lines that were slightly angled on the front side of the vest. It had a short hood that hung back. http://www.shirtless.tk/2011/08/jesse-mccartney.html The Doctor raised an eyebrow. Jesse put his hands out. "What? It's summer. And it's hot." "It's hot all right," the Doctor replied. "It's perfectly all right in my book, Doctor," the Brig interjected. "Thank you, Brigadier." "Well, at least you didn't call me Briggie," the Brig laughed. "We have to hunt this monster... I'll explain on the way..." the Doctor started. "To where? Another unloved, unpleasant place?" Jeremy asked. The Doctor shrugged. "Depends on your point of view, I guess. A gay bar." "...a gay bar?" Jeremy asked. "You want us to go to a gay bar?" "You were right. A most unpleasant, unloved place?" Jeremy put a hand on Jesse's back. "You don't..." Jesse turned and put a hand on Jeremy's back. "Okay." Jesse paused, behind Jeremy, a hand on his back. He looked at the Doctor and the Brig. They were in the Doctor's living room near a sliding back door. The central air conditioner made them feel less heated from the notion. The Doctor nodded. "Yeah, tomorrow night? Can you both go?" "Uhhh, yeah!" Jeremy said, excited. Jesse turned to the glass door. "Jesse?" The Doctor asked him. "Is it too soon? Is that a problem?" Jesse faced the outside. Hot summer sun on the Doctor's fully brick patio. It was built in the 1970s and held up well. An overhead wooden roof, stained red. Jesse turned back to him. "Yeah, why not. It'll be a blast." "Not worried about it?" The Doctor asked. "Naw," Jesse answered. "Brigadier?" The Brig snorted as he laughed. "What? Me? In a pu...I...I don't think anyone wants me there. I'm a bit...passed it." Jeremy turned to look at the Doctor. He turned to the Brig and moved to him and put an arm around the big guy. "Hey, there Brigadier. Age is only a number. Fuc...hell, I'm in love with a ...how year old?" He glanced at the Doctor. The Doctor shrugged and smiled. "By now, it could be one million...I just lost track." "Impressive," the Brig said. "As for me, I am not getting any younger." "Not yet at any rate," the Doctor murmured. "What does that mean?" "It means you have an interesting future." "Mind giving me a sample of what..." "Alastair, we've been all through that. At two points you will be getting younger. Ever hear of Avalon?" "The place where King Arthur was brought to?" The Brig sounded surprised. "Sort of." The Doctor put his pointer finger to his nose. "Can't say any more..." The Brig smiled. "Everything to do with you, Doctor, still continues to surprise me. Nevertheless, I think I shall sit this one out. It is the Fourth tomorrow...staying at my apartment will..." "You can stay here," the Doctor said. "I insist." Crossing to Jeremy and the Brig, Jesse tapped Jeremy on the shoulder and they winked at each other. Jeremy let his arm off the Brig, who looked at the hand on the other end of his shoulder. "Well, if you change your mind, you're always welcome with us." Jesse nodded. "Yup." The Brig drew himself up. "I see why you like them." "Love," the Doctor admitted, blushing. "Well, I think I'll go get my belongings after we raid the Farmingdale base and bring them here if that is all right?" "Of course, we have a marvelous guest room, Brigadier." "We'll go get your stuff. You big boys go do your raid," Jesse said. "Make us list and give us the key." "Yeah," Jeremy puffed up his chest. "We'll make your room look like it had some action." "At my age, look is hardly important." Jeremy winked. "Could have fooled me." "He likes the May December thing." Jesse put his head over Jeremy's shoulder. The Brig took his key out and handed it to Jesse, who held out his hand. "Are you sure?" "Yeah, make that list..." Jeremy ran to the adjoining kitchen area and retrieved a pen and pad. Jesse put a hand on the Brig's left shoulder and spoke to him. "Yeah, it'll be fun for Jeremy and I getting our hands in your drawers." "In my drawers?" Jeremy patted the Brig's back. "There's a first time for everything." The two started for the door. The Brig took his head back a bit. "I've had lots of men under me, Doctor, but none of them were ever like these two." "Well, there's always a second time for everything, too, sir," Jesse said as he turned at the exit. The two hurried out. "The cheek! To be spoken to like that." "I'll talk to them." "No. No need. I quite liked it." The raid went smoothly with no casualties. The guards were mostly not interested in firing guns or in dying. They surrendered immediately to the Brigadier's men, raising their hands. The others in the Farmingdale base were mostly scientists. Many seemed not to know about the deaths being caused or the controlling of the weather. UNIT USA took control of them, even though some were foreigners. The Brig met the Doctor outside at his Camaro. K9 was in the back seat. "Doctor, did you find out anything?" The Doctor shook his head. "Only a few of them knew about the seriousness of the radar dish being activated. They insist it's not that radar dish though. Told me they don't know where it is. Need to know basis and all that." "Lying, of course." The Brig looked at the Doctor's reaction. "Well, they must be. The area is positively lit up negatively when it seems to be on." "I don't think they're lying. Either that or..." "They don't know about the seriousness of it either?" "Or..." "Or?" "Or..." the Doctor looked at K9 in the back seat. "...someone's hypnotized them to forget the moment they're caught or found out or bursa yabancı escort something. A kind of trigger...possibly to some word. I can do it meself, given time." "Really?" The Brigadier frustrated. "Which lends further credence to the idea that one of your lot is helping them." "Yes," the Doctor said. "I wonder who. When I last saw the Master...he seemed somewhat...resigned to giving up." "Then, he has changed," the Brig snickered. "I mean this is and isn't like him at all." "Yes. Most of his plans come to nothing in the end. It used to sometimes seem that he just wanted me to know that he was the one behind it all...even if his conscious mind was trying to hide the fact that he's the one behind it all. He just wants to prove things to me. To show me up, make me feel worse about myself and better about him. He's a mess, you know, psychologically. Which makes him all the more dangerous. If he just thought about what he was doing for once...he'd end up not doing all those evil things he does, did, will do...or something." "He always wanted to humiliate you." "Yeah. I mean he should get a battle cry, you know. Like the Daleks have. Only his could be HUMIL-Leee?ATE!" The Brig shut his eyes and laughed heartily. "I'd say I'd like to meet him again but again, I'm too old for this sort of thing now, Doctor." "Really, Brigadier, do stop going on about your age. You're in good shape." "For someone my age." "You don't see me going on about my age, do you?" The Brig looked at him, sternly. They looked gazes and both burst out laughing at the same time. "No sign of Vera Miles, then?" The Doctor asked. "Not a stocking. Nor of Fenshaw or Dr. Cohen for that matter. They must be at the other base." "Or, like you, deactivated," the Doctor suggested. "It just galls me that they can turn people on and off like that. Play with their memories...and change their experiences...We checked all the computers, phone lines, and communications. It doesn't seem as if any message was sent about our raid..." "I know. K9's tapped into all of those, too." "Marvelous that tin dog of yours. All of them." "Appreciation appreciated," K9 spoke out loud. "It may have been sent psychically..." "All the listed psychics for the project aren't among the people we nabbed here...we're still going to make more arrests as we have lists of other workers here from employee records...damned stupid of them to keep records and time out sheets and the like..." "Power, Brigadier. They didn't think they'd get caught or that, indeed, they were criminal. Most of em probably didn't think they were doing anything wrong. Protecting our way of life and all that. Freedom." "Ahh. If freedom is at the cost of our teenagers and pets...those we should protect and all that...then...what good are we?" The Brig sighed. "Well, if we hurry, we could be at the Montauk base in an hour by copter." "Let's go then," the Doctor said. "And we'll take K9." K9's metal tail wagged and his ears moved. The helicopter had a logo on the front that read G-UNIT. The Doctor pointed downward. "Brigadier, there's a large area there to the north quadrant that appears to be open." "Don't be a back seat driver, Doctor," the Brig scolded. "I may be 78 but I can still fly this baby." "I didn't mean to imply you couldn't. On second thought, maybe there's too much overgrowth that's grown over that landing pad..." "Doctor, like you, I can land anywhere." "Briga..." "Don't worry, I won't crash. It would be a shame to let five hundred thousand pounds...I mean two hundred and fifty thousand dollars go up in smoke. Like some people." "You still hold that against me?" The Doctor laughed. "Of course not. You had to do what you had to do to save yourself and Miss Grant." The Doctor became nostalgic, "Jo. Jo." "No, just Jo. I wonder how she is faring these days." "Oh, rather well. I've seen her a number of times since those days, Brigadier. She's doing well. Has a large family." "I'm glad. She was one of my favorite people," the Brig said as he landed the copter. They emerged onto the landing pad. It was clear it hadn't been used in a long time. "I wonder if it was made to look this way." The Doctor turned all the way around. "What makes you think that?" "I don't know. K9. Any traces of anything...fuel spill? Dents on the concrete from pressure. Pet dog shat on the boots of a pilot." "Negative, Master." "Doctor," the Brig pointed, "There appears to be a walkway and cement sidewalk we can use. It doesn't look too badly covered up." "Okay, Brigadier, okay," the Doctor patted the Brig's back. The man and Gallifrean carefully descended to the walkway. K9 hovered, scanning while waiting for them to catch up to him. The two started walking down a walkway that was surrounded on both sides by large bushes, trees, and overgrowth. There appeared to be a few metallic boxes in the overgrowth, barely visible. The Doctor looked up. "K9, power conduits?" "Affirmative. Traditional power supplies, however, anachronistic for 2008." "Anachronistic?" "That shouldn't surprise you, Doctor, especially if they're being helped by one of your number." The Doctor shot him an aggravated look. "To my shame, Brigadier, to my shame. K9, para or pro?" "Pro." "Uh, lay men's terms, Doctor and dog." The Brigadier stopped walking. "This unit prefers K9." "Sorry. Didn't mean to be patronizing." "We should keep walking, Brigadier..." the Doctor prompted. The Brig started up and the Doctor allowed him to catch up to him again. K9 spoke. "Parachronism..." "I'll explain, K9, thank you. Para, Brigadier, is a form of anachronism where, something from an earlier time is being used in a present time, such as a house wife using a washing board to do laundry..." "Instead of a washing machine?" The Doctor smiled and the Brigadier thought he noticed a movement of the Doctor's hands and a tone in the voice that reminded him of the 8th Doctor, the one who put a stop to the Ice Warrior spaceship. "Precisely," the Doctor pointed and had a jovial tone in his voice. "So, this is not that. Pro means...the opposite. Something that exists that cannot in this time because it's not invented yet...or perhaps not widely used in this culture or on the planet..." "Meaning something more advanced has been given to this project and is being used..." "It could just be something that's not that widely used. I mean the idea for a computer started in something like, oh, 1833, in my favorite country..." He smiled and turned to the Brig. The Brig smiled back. "I thought that was America." "Second fav. Anyway this man had this idea..." "Charles Babbage." The Doctor stopped walking now to look at the Brig. He was surprised and the Brig walked past him. The Brig sported a huge smile. "Doctor, you said to keep walking..." "Half a mile to go," K9 informed. "Yes...yes." The Doctor started up again. "I may not be a top notch science buff, Doctor but I do something about history." "Well," the Doctor put an arm under the Brig's arm as they walked. "Well, I am glad there's something interested in history." "Where it pertains to my position and my cases, of course." "Sigh, Brigadier. Just sigh." "Sigh." "I didn't...anyhow, just because there were computers around in the 70s, they weren't widely used so it could be that something prochronistic isn't the result of interference by aliens or indeed..." "Time Lords?" "Yes." The Doctor looked at him. "Then again, K9 himself is pro..." "Much appreciated compliment, Master." "Oh, K9..." the Doctor became aggravated. "Which are you, Doctor? Pro or Para?" "Oh, I'm so a Pro! A plus Pro!" To the Brig he sounded like the 10th Doctor when he said that. The Brig raised an eyebrow and the Doctor caught that. "Oh, okay. I'm a little bit of both. A little bit of country and a little bit rock and roll. I was, nearest I can figure, born in relative Earth year 1213 and depending on which time lane was in existence at the time, Gallifrey date 56 as one version of me and 4756 as another." "Thank you. That makes it all perfectly clear." "You never change, do you, Brigadier?" "Not like you do." The Doctor nodded. "Good. Don't. I like you just the way you are." The Brig chuckled and put a hand on the Doctor's arm. "So..." The Brig wanted to know more. "So--- about this... it most likely is something or someone from the future or from an advanced civilization, far more advanced than Earth at this time, that's footing this project, at least scientifically...of course it could be both someone or something from the future and from a highly advanced planet or it might just be a very smart Earthling..." "Not bloody likely though is it?" "Oh, I don't know. You've had some people that were more than smart, even when compared to my people..." "Doctor, sometimes..." The two had reached the end of the forestry area and now emerged at what appeared to be a wider road that opened up to a facsimile of a suburban street...mixed with what seemed to be military personnel and family housing. Buildings reflected a barracks type design as well as normal housing. It was a strange mix of design. It also felt more oppressive. Clearly, the buildings were all abandoned. Plastic tarps blew from inside large windows on a family house to the outside as the summer breeze hit. "While we walked and talked all this time...I hardly noticed." "What?" "Doctor, come on, you of all people should have noticed. No animal sounds. No bird chirping. No insects. Cicadas. Nothing. It's deadly silent. If we two weren't chattering like two old women on the way out, we would have heard it..." The Doctor raised an eyebrow. "Or rather not heard it. There's nothing. No sound." "K9?" "I detect no life forms." "What about under us?" The Doctor asked. "Aside from microscopic life forms, bacteria, viruses, microbes, infintestimal microscopic life forms, I detect no presence." "Humans?" "Negative." "Scan widened?" "Maximum to parameters of the road on one side of the base and the ocean on the other. There are no life forms. This base is empty." The Doctor walked to an adjoining road, past the family houses. He saw a large rectangular shape. "A door?" He touched it. "Cemented around?" The Brig joined him, looking at K9 for support. "It could be a kind of entrance way. Down?" "Yes, what I thought. Do you have any sensations? I mean, do you remember anything about being here?" "No. Not like the other place. Maybe I was never here before. Even if I was at the other place..." "Even? Vera Miles confirmed it. Without knowing we didn't know. Or something." "Wouldn't I have noticed missing time?" The Doctor shrugged. "That's the problem with reality...and time...if you're made to forget, you can also be made to not notice the missing time. All that would matter was the present moment. Your memory of the time would be shortened. Even plane trips you made here. I'm sure if we check, we'll find you made at least one plane trip here..." "But Doris..." The Doctor looked at him. "Oh my God. You mean she thinks I'm having an affair?" "Brave heart, Brigadier. You can explain it to her once we've sorted it all out." The Brig stared at him in horror. "I'll explain it to her." "No, no, Doctor. It's my duty to explain it to her. I mean at least me she can understand." "Yes." The Doctor looked around. "I want to explore some more. See if we find fresh tracks." A voice underground was raspy and told a man sitting in a chair at a monitor. "They shall find nothing." http://www.youtube/watch?v=CmXlyS-azeI http://www.youtube/watch?v=pFpKcV_XxWY http://www.youtube/watch?v=GuZddNMYJNM http://www.youtube/watch?v=p8_yHzF0dSM "Doctor. The base of my spine is tingling. I mean can we get out now? If you've seen one old abandoned building...architecture withstanding...it's awful design...just big giant cement blocks and random civilian homes..." "I don't know. A little flowers, a spot of dusting, creative redesigning...it might make a good home..." "Well, according to K9, there's nothing here. And your blasted sonic screwdriver isn't picking up anything, is it?" "Not a thing," the Doctor answered. He was holding it out and had it turned on constantly. "The radar dish there doesn't seem to be connected to anything. It appears not to be working." "I just want to get out of here. There may not be a base here but...I don't know...it feels creepy here and odd...not a good feeling at all." "No. I feel it, too," the Doctor told him. "Does he?" The Brig nodded at K9, who was in the air. "Negative," K9 told him. "You heard him, negative," the Doctor stated. The Doctor and the Brigadier were being watched via a scanner screen. A male voice said, "Destroy?" "No need. They haven't picked up a thing," another voice said. The man laughed. "Let's get back. We have to prepare for tomorrow's venture," the Doctor said, "Much to be done to protect us." "About that...?" "Don't want to go to a gay bar, my old friend?" The Brig smiled. "No, of course, not. I mean of course I am going. It's just...I've never really been before." "Oh no?" The Doctor feigned surprise. "I thought a man of your experience would have..." "Doctor, you're being facetious." "Don't you worry, Brigadier, I'll prep you so you can take up the rear." "What?" "Never you mind. Let's take a look at the radar base...if we can get near it and then we'll go." "Whatever you say. The sooner the better. I've a feeling we're being watched. I've had it since just before we landed." "Nonsense." "If you say so." K9 hovered between them. "So do I." "Oh, K9," the Doctor reached up and pet his belly. "July 4th, 2: 45 PM." The Brig was under the covers, sheets pulled over his shoulder. He snored loudly. He was lying on his side in the guest room at the Doctor's house. The bursa sınırsız escort Doctor came into the room, Jeremy behind him. The Doctor wore a short cut black leather jacket, a blue T-shirt underneath, tight at the chest and short cut sleeves. He wore dark blue Levis dungarees denim pants and rubber lined sneakers. Jeremy sported maroon pants and dark velvety black shoes with round toe, rubber lined. He also was in the process of finishing buttoning a plaid shirt with blue lines, light grey-ish in between the blue lines. He wore a dark cap with slight brim and a white watch on his right wrist. http://www.askmamaz/wp-content/uploa...-pants-men.jpg As he finished the buttoning, leaving the bottom button undone so as to sport some flesh, he asked, "What do you think about the specs? Too much?" He had taken dark brown glasses out of his pants pocket. The Doctor was paying more attention to the sleeping Brig. "Yeah, probably." "Oh, okay, then," Jeremy put the specs in his pocket. "I'll leave em here then." Behind the Doctor, he asked, "Shouldn't we wake him?" "I don't think so." Outside an M-80 went off amid the continuous snapping of more normal firecrackers. Jesse came into the room, wearing a slight variation of what Jeremy was wearing. "There're kids in the streets around the house lighting M-fucking-80s." He looked at the Brig. "How lovely. Is he coming?" "No, he's sleeping," the Doctor said, his mind serious and on the Brig. Jesse looked at Jeremy. "Well, that's the first time this'is happened." "I'll go change..." "No, I will. I have something else I wanna wear and try out anyway," Jesse shrugged and offered. He was about to leave but put a hand on both the Doctor's shoulder and Jeremy's from behind both of them. "Is he going with us or not?" "Maybe we should let him sleep?" Jeremy asked. Jesse responded with, "Okay but he'll be pissed." The Doctor, absent in thought, and melancholy, said, "For once the old boy was right about him being too old for this sort of thing. I never should have taken him to the Montauk base." Jeremy put a hand over the Doctor's left shoulder and moved it down to the Doctor's chest as Jesse removed the hand from the Doctor's right shoulder. Jesse stood closer to the bed, level with the Doctor. He pursed his lips together, growing thoughtful as the Doctor. "You said he was all right during the Farmingdale raid. Was he?" "Oh, yes. And this time in a raid, he didn't have to kill anyone." "Kill?" Jeremy asked, putting his right hand over the Doctor's right shoulder, effectively getting behind the Doctor and putting his right cheek next to the Doctor's left cheek. "I thought you didn't like to kill anyone?" "I don't. Usually. Sometimes, there isn't any other way. He taught me that. And perhaps this woman I used to know that gave her life for me, us, the Earth against the Daleks...Harriet Jones." As he kissed the Doctor's left cheek, Jeremy, inadvertently said, "I never heard of her." "What? Oh no, not another mystery to have to check into. I've got me hands full at the mo." Jeremy put his hands down the Doctor's shirt to his nipples on both sides. "So do I." The Harriet Jones affair is another story and shall be told at another time. Jesse asked, "The Brig kinda taught you to kill?" "Maybe. I had killed before. My Third Self was very against such action. It brought the Brigadier and I to the most awful rows and often. Yet, my Fourth Self, despite believing he didn't have the right, was very much more likely to kill to stop evil." "Yeah." Jesse nodded. "Sometimes, like the Daleks, you have to." Jeremy looked at him, close, turning from cheek to cheek, "Is that why you destroyed the planet of the Cybermen and where Fesh's mother died?" "Yes. There are some corners of the universes that have bred and spawned the most terrible things. Evils that go against everything that we believe in. They must be fought and if no other way, stopped permanently. That doesn't mean it's right, though. Doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to find some other way." Jeremy took his hands out and looked at the Doctor, then stuck his tongue in the Doctor's left ear. "You often do." "My 9th self refused to kill the Daleks because doing so would wipe out what was left of the Earth people on Earth fighting the Daleks...or being slaughtered by them in the far future." "So to wake him or not?" Jesse asked. "Not. Let the old boy sleep." "You...you love him, don't you?" Jeremy asked and kissed the Doctor's neck on the left side. "Yes, I suppose I do. Oh, not in the same way I love you two...but yeah, I suppose I do love the old irritant." From the bed, the Brig snored. The Doctor motioned his hands for Jesse and then Jeremy to leave the room. They obeyed and he was behind them but stopped at the door to hold it. He looked back at the Brig. "Big galoot." The Doctor said as he gave one last look at the Brig. On the way out of the house and at the front door, The Doctor put his sonic in his leather jacket pocket and then put on a wrist watch. As he opened the front door, he told K9, who was hovering nearby, "K9, fully charged?" "Yes, Master." "Good, good. Then, stay here and watch the house and watch over my friend the Brigadier, understand?" "Master, would I not be better service to you if I went along?" K9 asked. Jeremy smirked at the Doctor who smirked back. "Yes, but in the event any of those adolescent and teens cause any fires, not likely, but in the event..." the Doctor shook the sonic at him, taking it out, "You know what to do." "Yes, Master. Pee on them." "The kids? Pee on the kids?" Jeremy asked. "Not the kids, the fires!" The Doctor grew irritated. "Where is that boy now?" "Coming!" Jesse ran from a room to the hall to them at the foyer/living room area. "Now wasn't the time," Jeremy quipped. It was then he noticed Jesse white T shirt. He had on a white mesh zip-down over covering. It wasn't quite a jacket. He wore a big white wrist watch on his right wrist and rings on his left hand. He had on white short shorts with mesh over each leg, also white, and white slip on shoes, rubber soled. At the top of shorts, there was no button so that the sides could split, showing his navel. His short cut T shirt wasn't that low but it was what was logoed onto the shirt. A saying, "My Other Boyfriend Is Over 80!" in big red letters and under that, in smaller blue letters, "Age is just a number deal with it!" On the right side, the shirt started an American flag design that wrapped around the shirt to the back and the other side, red, white and blue, but under the mesh. Jesse's ensemble was a male version of this: http://micahgianneli/game-on/ "You know," Jeremey said as he stepped after the Doctor and through the front door to outside, on the porch, "...you're just going to invite every old guy in the place to hit on ya?" "Good." Jesse followed. "Why is it good?" Jeremy nodded for Jesse to lock the front door. Jesse really didn't want to bother locking it or even closing it. "K9's here." Jeremy nodded again, insistent, so Jesse shut the front door. Jeremy repeated, "Why is it good?" The Doctor called from the driveway, before stepping into Bessie. "C'mon shake a leg, boys. C'mon Jays, stow your stumps!" "Jays?" Jesse raised an eyebrow and locked the door at the same time. "That's a new one." "Why is it good?" "Are you gonna stop asking me that?" Jesse headed for Bessie, passing Jeremy. Jeremy followed. "When you answer?" "Shot gun!" As Jesse hopped over the left side of the door to Bessie without opening it, Dick Grayson style, he said, "Cause, once they are drawn to me like a magnet, and I let them down..." Jeremy, having hopped over the left side of Bessie to the back seat, shot him a disapproving look. "...I can direct them over to you..." Jeremy's eyes grew wide. "After all, you like em old..." "What? I do?" "Tommy Connolly?" "He wasn't that old!" "Pssfffffttt. 38?" "Hold onto your cap, Jeremy!" The Doctor at the wheel (which, Bessie being a British car, was on the right side), backed out of the driveway. Jeremy almost fell against the front seat as Jesse held the dashboard. The car sped out. Jeremy and Jesse yelled. "July 4th, 2008...3PM..." Driving down Deer Park Highway...the sound of fireworks, the smells of the car passing barbeques...and the occasional sound of an M-80 blasting the still summer air... Jesse was sitting in the front passenger seat, which in Bessie was on the right side. The Doctor insisted on driving and thus, he was in the right front seat. Jeremy hovered between them but in the back seat. To the Doctor it was annoying that he was constantly leaning forward into the front seat between the two front seat occupiers. "Hey," Jeremy said, sticking his head forward between Jesse and the Doctor, "There's not much traffic for Fourth of July, is there?" Jesse was relaxing, slouched in the front seat, one foot up and out the door window, which was open. The hood of Bessie was down. "Yeah, that's cause most normal people are already where they're supposed to be. Not hunting monsters." Jeremy put a hand on the Doctor's shoulder. The Doctor looked at it, meanly. Jeremy put another on Jesse's head as he rested his elbows on the top of the seats. "Yeah, so, about that...Doc...you said you would explain on the way...so we're on the way." "Yes," the Doctor said as Bessie continued down Deer Park Avenue. "K9 and the Brigadier found out quite a lot during the raid. And from what I've pieced together from the bodies...or leftovers..." "Bad joke..." Jesse spouted. "I'm not joking," the Doctor told him. "...this thing is some kind of energy from outer space..." "Oh, what a surprise," Jesse said. "Why is it only killing gay people?" Jeremy asked. "Is it a homophobic alien?" "In a way. In another way, no." The Doctor puffed. He started to say something but Jeremy cut in, loudly. "There's the turn off! You have to go Sunrise Highway!" "I know that!" The Doctor said. Annoyed, Jesse rolled his eyes. "Go on, Doctor." The Doctor turned onto the more expansive Sunrise Highway from Deer Park Avenue. An M-80 went off. Fireworks in the blue. Driving down Sunrise Highway... http://www.youtube/watch?v=Yhy3wRWZ1I0 "From the computers at the Farmingdale site, we found where this thing landed, the Brig and I. It seems our friends at Farmingdale as well as UNIT were trying to seek out new life as it came to Earth. The project found this thing when it landed. They must have thought it was an alien that could help them." As the Doctor spoke, Roman Candles flew overhead and the sound of their whistling made the Doctor jump as he said the word, "Landed." "Then they're behind this?" Jeremy asked. "Did I say that?" the Doctor snapped. Jeremy frowned. "It would be the logical deduction however." Jeremy smiled again and Jesse looked at him and shook his head. "But it's still wrong." Jeremy frowned. Jesse tried to cover his snickering with his hands and sunk even lower in his seat. Jeremy asked, "What then?" "I'm only theorizing of course..." "Of course." Jeremy rolled his hands over each other. The Doctor explained. "The site was near a sort of isolated farmhouse no longer used as a farm. I mean it had neighbors burn marks suggested it landed in the field that used to be used for crops. And there lived one man. One Charles Boyair..." "And he was gay." Jeremy deduced. "Yes. He was gay. I mean it seems he was also some 40 years old. He had family but didn't get out much. Some background checking in the TARDIS showed me that he...well, he tried when he was in his 30s to get involved with the gay community here on Long Island. Much the same as..." The Doctor stopped, absent minded as if he started to think about something else. "As...?" Jesse asked from his near sleep. "As...oh, others on Long Island. It didn't go well. He didn't meet nice people. I think the thing landed, expanded, and then came to him. Connected to him somehow. I think most of it fuel supply is human...nature...human...DNA and sort of like...like what you Catholics would call...the soul. I think it wants to have a soul. To be human. Of course, I'm only guessing. I think judging by Charles's background...it holds whoever treated the man badly...or ignored him...responsible and as enemies. And it needs to be like him for some reason. It wants to build a soul...which, of course is impossible..." "Because you don't believe in souls?" Jeremy asked. "What? Whatever gave you that idea? Of course I believe in souls. The soul. Now, I do. There was a time I didn't." "Well, you're a scientist." "Well, there are other ways of looking at the world and the universes, you know. In any event, it wants to be like Charles while also destroying the gay community members it has. And it won't stop." Jesse murmured, "How do you know that?" "Because it's a star or was one once...and instead of dying...I think it was at its last gasp, so to speak. Instead of dying...and that could have taken another million years...it wants to live. To feel. It doesn't feel. But you know what it takes to power the sun... and a dying one at that? To power a star?" "As a matter of fact, I don't," Jeremy stated. "More energy than even the TARDIS has...just about. In fact, pitted against the TARDIS...I wouldn't even want to think about that." "Will it's plan work eventually?" "No. First of all, it cannot feel. Second, the power will drain exponentially. No matter how much DNA it incorporates into itself, how much flesh and body parts it steals and seals into itself..." Bessie continued driving down Sunrise Highway... http://www.youtube/watch?v=Yhy3wRWZ1I0 "Exit 49!" Jeremy pointed out of Bessie, over the Doctor's shoulder as the Doctor drove from the görükle escort right seat, the driver's seat. "Lakeland Avenue!!!" He bumped into the Doctor's shoulder. "I know! I know!" The Doctor said and waved him off. "I think I've been there before! Now, sit down." Jeremy frowned, then smiled. Jesse looked at him from the left front seat. Jeremy sulked as he crossed his arms. "Just think you've been there." "At over a million years old, I think I'm allowed a few fuzzy areas of memory!" "All right!" Jeremy yelled. "Why so testy!?" "I don't know!" "Well, figure it the fuck out!" "Going to this bar is making me like this for some reason!" Jesse sank down to close his eyes. He didn't want a part of this conversation...yet. The scenery around was like most of Long Island: a mixture of trees, forestry, bushes, exits to side roads, and a variety of old and new man-made buildings. On either side were fast food places, gas stations, older homes that were not taken care of that well, older homes that were, and green street signs with white lettering. Other homes were new and larger. There was also plenty of business buildings: mechanic's garages, lawyer offices, paint places, storage unit complexes, and elementary schools. Lots of telephone poles. "I thought I'd be the one who's nervous," Jesse said. He was perfectly relaxed, spread out in the passenger side, the left side. He put his feet up on the dashboard. "No. No. Don't do that. Yeah. No, really, don't do that." "Why? It's comfortable." The Doctor frowned. "Bessie doesn't like that." Jesse smiled and joked, "Next thing you're gonna tell me is she's alive." The Doctor just turned his head at Jesse and back to the road. Jesse swallowed, dropped his smile, and removed his feet from the dashboard. Bessie turned down Lakeland and soon came up to a split road. Jeremy whispered, "It merges into or becomes Railroad Avenue." The Doctor tried not to sound angry and failed. He said through grit teeth. "I know." Jesse frowned now. "You were talking about why the thing will never get what it wants." "It will need more and more. Soon, it won't just be killing gay men, it will reach out and start with heterosexuals and eventually women, once it finds out that most women are more sensitive and kind and peace loving than men. Pffst. It should have met Helen of Troy or Cleo." "Doc, this man that died..." Jeremy said and then asked, "Was he a virgin then?" "What made you ask that?" Jeremy shrugged. "All indications are that he was. The thing may be looking for those that kept him that way." Silence as they drove. "Doctor?" Jeremy started. "Hmmm?" Jeremy looked pensive. "Couldn't we...like you know..." "Go back in time and..." "Yeah..." "No. I'm pretty sure it's a fixed point in time...besides if we do that...we won't be able to track the thing." Jeremy went on. "Just hear me out. Couldn't we just...maybe go back and make it so that he's at least not a virgin before he dies?" "That's a nice, generous and loving thought, Jeremy but I don't think so," the Doctor said, calmly. "Why not?" Jesse piped up. "First, if we do that and leave, how much more anger will that give birth to in Charles? I mean, what are you two gonna do, show up, have sex with him and then leave for the rest of his life?" "I never...I don't know. I never thought beyond that initial want to help him..." Jeremy said. Jesse shut his eyes. "That sun. This sun. Well, what if we...I dunno, stop the thing from ever reaching Earth in the first place? Go back and do that?" "Like I said. I don't think that's possible. The energy propelling it...is so strong, I don't think the TARDIS could stop it, even if it got in the way of the energy. It could very probably destroy the entire universe and trust me, I don't intend going through that again. I've been through it THRICE..." "Mmmm. So have I." Jeremy frowned. "I just feel so bad for that man." "Me, too," the Doctor said, "And IT, the motorcycle monster, does, too." "Kind of a weird creature this time," Jesse put in. "And you and Jesse should know almost as well as I do that going back and trying to change things might end up making things worse," the Doctor reminded them. Jesse pouted. "Yeah, I remember. I haven't forgotten the people we've lost in 2782." "Yeah, me, too. Where do you think this motorcycle monster is now?" Jeremy asked, bent over between the seats, "The farm?" "No, the Brig and I went there before we went to Montauk. Nothing there now. Just the shattered wall it tore down to get in and before it killed the man. I believe the next person it killed was a motorcyclist...so it is likely it did that at the man's house...I'm hoping to find out more here. The first person it killed was here in Sayville...at the Bunkhouse." "Why can't we go to his house?" Jeremy asked. "Good thought, too. We can't because he seems to have no fixed abode." "Kinda like you," Jesse chimed up from the front rest. The Doctor glared at him but he didn't notice. "No records of him living anywhere. Many motorcyclists are sort of...well, like, nomads. They move around a lot. Like gypsies, sort of." The Doctor shrugged. "He may have been squatting. Off the map as it were." "Off the map!" Jeremy squealed, "That was a good show." "And you don't think this motorcycle monster thing is related to the Farmingdale thing?" Jesse asked. The Doctor drove as he talked. "Negative as K9 would say. They were tracking it and it is possible their time experiments and radar dish drew it to this area in particular. It's not a coincidence that it's here. I think their dabbling into energies they know nothing about, magnetically or something else, drew it here." "27-A! We have to turn LEFT! LEFT!" Jeremy yelled. "Jeremy! STOP! I know!" Jeremy pouted and sat down, having stood up a great deal and bent over for most of their trip or on his knees. He murmured, "It's on the right side not far after the turn." "Jeremy! I know!" The Doctor snapped. Jesse smiled, "Back seat drivers, right, Doc?" He nudged his elbow into the Doctor. The Doctor pulled his arm and whole shoulder away. Eager to get out of the car, the Doctor pulled Bessie quickly into the parking lot where they didn't find a space. He had to park Bessie across the street in the shopping center. As they emerged from the car, Jeremy, last, from the back seat, said, "Sheesh. Good thing, I'm not that annoying when we travel in the TARDIS, right?" As he emerged...the Doctor held the door for Jeremy and just glared at him. Jeremy shrank back a bit and then stepped out, and stepped away from the Doctor, who took off across Sunrise Highway. Instead, Jesse came forth to give his hand into Jeremy's hand to help him out the cramped side of the back seat. Jesse called after the Doctor, "Hey, be careful. There're cars, you know!" "I'm not going to die being hit by a car," the Doctor shouted without turning around to see him. Moving out from the car to the curb, behind the Doctor, Jesse put a hand on Jeremy's back as he called ahead to the Doctor, "Oh, you know everything, I forgot. You can die hitting your head on the TARDIS console..." "Been there...done that..." They hadn't noticed before but the THUMP THUMP of the club music could already be heard. "Normally," the Doctor told them as they met up on the other side of the street, heading for the Bunkhouse, "...no one would be here during the day but as it's the Fourth...the party's starting early..." http://www.youtube/watch?v=OVjougGgn50 Most of the music and songs heard had a Fourth of July theme to them. As they approached the door and the music grew louder on their ears, the Doctor stopped. Jeremy collided with the Doctor's back. Jesse saw this. "What's wrong?" "I don't know. I don't think I can do this." "Of course, you can," Jesse urged. He put his hands on the Doctor's hands and lead him, moving himself backwards, toward the door. Jeremy smiled. "My eyes deceive me? Or amaze me? Jesse leading the Doctor into a gay bar!?" A large man in a too small white shirt, muscular beyond belief, was on a stool just inside the door. "20 dollars." "Money?" The Doctor gasped. "I totally forgot. I forget to carry money a lot these days." He shrugged. "Guess I can't go in...we have to turn left...I mean turn back..." Jesse took out three twenty dollar bills. "I got it." "ID." "Yeah, don't I look over 21?" "Yes, but tonight we're allowing 15 to 21 year olds in as well and the white wrist bands are for them. They cannot be served liquor. The pink wrist bands..." "Oh, pink, my second favorite color." "...are for over 21s..." As the big brunette muscle man put the band on Jesse after checking his ID, he asked, "What's your first?" "Depending on the day, red, blue, and orange. Why do you care?" The man blinked at Jesse. "I'm a caring guy. First time in a gay club or gay bar?" "Naw. Well, yeah, on Earth, it is." He walked away and left the man pondering that. The man silently repeated, "On Earth?" He turned to the Doctor, "ID?" The Doctor held up the psychic paper, as he surveyed the crowd. The bar was to the left and against a quarter of the back wall. Next to it was a larger stage area that opened up to a larger dance space. Across from the dance space and toward the far right side of the club was another bar, adjacent to the one on the left. Further on that wall was a door to outside that was open. Smoke seemed to pour in and out of it illuminated by some kind of lamp light from outside that was there for mood, not light. A short wall was between the second bar and a smaller stage for a dancing boy to dance on. A very lean, very shaved hot blond boy was dancing on the small circle stage. Men were putting singles in his waist band to his thong. He gyrated for them. One shy man hesitated so the blond boy, who looked 18, smiled at him, took his hand and put both their hands into his waist band and felt up and down. Behind the small stage were iron bars to a barrier to steps that descended below, large width. A rope was placed across the top of the stairs that said DANCERS ONLY. Past that was the front entrance and across from the first bar was two sets of lavatories. Rounding a corner on the side opposite the first bar was a deeper room with a pool table, now occupied by two skinny, ribby 15 year olds in their white underwear, both trying to hump the other on top of the other, each rolling as far as they could, almost wrestling on it. Jesse went to the first bar and nodded to the bar tender. "Hey, that legal?" "Yeah." the bar tender shrugged. He put a hand out, "I'm Frank. I own the place." The man was about 35, Jesse thought, not unattractive but somewhat average looking, thinning hair but parted in the middle and showing a lot of forehead. He wore a tight tank top, a wife beater and while his muscles were not as big as the door man, they were there and noticeable. Behind Frank, were two TVs hung on the wall behind the bar. Both sported what could have been soft core porn but no cocks tonight as this was a sort of teen night, which Jesse felt more than uncomfortable with. Jesse shook his hand and thought the man left the shake too long. "What've got?" "What'da want?" Frank took his hand back. "Aviation cocktail." "Wow," Frank stated. He went about his business making it. Jeremy joined Jesse. "Where the Doc?" Jesse said, loudly over the music. "He seems entranced by the dancer. Kyle." "Kyle? You know his name already?" Jeremy smiled and looked red faced. "Yeah." He nodded. "What're drinking?" "I know. I know. I don't like it much either but once in a while...you do know I lost a friend once to drunk driving?" "I know." Jeremy leaned on the bar. He looked to the right and saw a man dressed as a woman sitting there. The man seemed to be about 45 years old and was fully dressed in a blond wig, dress, and high heels. Jesse looked at the man and almost scoffed. Jeremy gave him his scolding look. "Hey, live and let live, right? To each his own." Jesse shrugged and turned his back to the bar to look at the abs of the dancer, Kyle. "Day yum." "And he's blond." "Blond?! Oh, he's blond! What a surprise!" Jesse took his drink from Frank and turned to the man, "Thanks." He noticed his money against the drink in Frank's hand. "Oh no, that's all for you," Jesse urged. "No, keep it. I thought maybe you could...you know, sing a few sets?" Jesse bent over the bar. "I...look, guy, I'm just here on a kind of vacation. I need a rest. I just came out to sort of relax. Okay?" Frank nodded. "I know you're not on the down low. I mean with you and he coming out last year during the holidays no less." Jeremy smiled and took in the conversation but stared at the Doctor who was near the small stage and eyeing Kyle, who smiled at him back. The Doctor didn't seem to see Kyle, though, which was difficult, Jeremy thought. "I mean you and you..." Frank addressed Jeremy, who turned to him. Jeremy was now shoulder to shoulder with Jesse. Frank went on and didn't sound threatening or menacing, just sort of explanatory. "...too, you didn't expect to come to a gay bar, a gay club and not have any of the patrons recognize you both? I mean you're both gay icons..." "Did you hear that, Jesse?" Jeremy perked up and stood up straighter. "I'm a gay icon." "Sort of like Matthew Waterhouse," Jesse added. "You can hardly stay incognito in a gay club, being who you both are." Frank explained. "You're bound to be recognized. I'm sure, right now, that every guy in here from 15 to 50 is looking to ask to buy you a drink or waiting for ya to sing a song." Jesse took a sip of the drink and left the money on the bar. "Maybe later, okay?" He averted Frank's eyes. "I'll take it," Frank responded, smiled, and moved on to serve other patrons. http://www.youtube/watch?v=OVjougGgn50 http://www.youtube/watch?v=HjlwiUV1R-E http://www.youtube/watch?v=gUAVvAi2JR0 Too Shy: http://www.youtube/watch?v=nKWbMJOIkUk we really saw a bird that had one leg extending from its body, not a disfigurement.
